Arsenal are reportedly ready to rival Inter Milan and Leeds United for the signing of Borussia Dortmund left-back Daniel Svensson this summer.

Article continues under the video

The 23-year-old arrived at the Signal Iduna Park from Nordsjaelland last year and he has established himself as a key player under Niko Kovac over the past few months, racking up 30 appearances across all competitions in a left wing-back role.

Dortmund paid a measly fee of just €6.5 million to sign Svensson, however they have now placed a €30m asking price on his head as they prepare to receive official approaches for his signature this summer.

That is according to German publication Bild, who claim that Leeds have identified Svensson as a key transfer target for 2026, while Arsenal and Inter are also interested in landing the Sweden international.

It’s stated that Svensson has a 30% chance of leaving Dortmund this summer, and Arsenal’s interest in his services has fuelled further speculation surrounding Myles Lewis-Skelly’s future at the Emirates Stadium.

Could Myles Lewis-Skelly leave Arsenal?

After breaking into the Arsenal first-team in late 2024, Lewis-Skelly established himself as Mikel Arteta’s favoured left-back during the second half of last season and he soon cemented his place in the England starting XI too.

However, his impact this term has drastically reduced following the return to full fitness of Riccardo Calafiori and the summer arrival of Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen.

Lewis-Skelly has only started one Premier League match so far this season, while he has racked up just 46 minutes of action in Arsenal’s last six English top flight fixtures combined.

Chelsea are rumoured to be closely monitoring his lack of game time in north London and they have been widely tipped to pursue a shock deal amid their continued pursuit of the best young talents in world football.

Despite this, it’s understood that Arsenal have no intention of allowing Lewis-Skelly to depart and they remain in an excellent negotiating position as his current contract isn’t due to expire until 2030.
