Julian Nagelsmann’s agent has confirmed that the former Bayern Munich head coach is holding talks with multiple clubs, dropping a hint that he has been in contact with Liverpool and Barcelona in the process.
The competition for coaches this summer promises to be intense, with Jurgen Klopp having announced his intention to stand down from the Liverpool job, Xavi’s departure from Barcelona looking ever more certain and Bayern’s decision to part company with Thomas Tuchel.
Nagelsmann finds himself in the fortunate position of being one of the few highly rated managers free of club commitments for the time being.
The 36-year-old will lead Germany into Euro 2024, but after that challenge will be free to take up a club post once again after leaving Bayern in March 2023.

Nagelsmann close to decision
Volker Struth, Nagelsmann’s representative, has all but confirmed that a deal will be done in the next week.
Speaking to Spielmacher- der EM-Podcast von 360Media mit Sebastian Hellmann he said: “Everyone is currently asking me the same question: Is Nagelsmann going back to Bayern or what is Nagelsmann doing? (…) This will be decided in the next few days. It will be decided shortly. In the next five-to-seven days.
“It would be complete nonsense to say that we are not talking to interested parties. Without me wanting to say who the interested parties are. I can only say, it’s not just Bayern Munich. That’s normal. That’s my job, and it would be a bit of a joke towards the media to say we’re not having conversations.
“Of course, we are having conversations now. It has also been announced by Julian himself that he will probably make a decision about his future in April.”

Despite his comparatively young age for a coach, Nagelsmann has nearly a decade of experience behind him with Hoffenheim, RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich in club football. He has been extensively touted as a future Real Madrid head coach in the past.
Nagelsmann, meanwhile, is likely to confirm his return to Bayern.
