The Nigeria international was on the verge of joining Chelsea on Transfer Deadline Day last summer, but the move fell through and Osimhen was forced to join Turkish giants Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal instead.

Despite his impressive form so far this campaign, Napoli are set to sell Osimhen on a permanent deal this summer, with the club eager for his €75 million release clause to be triggered by any interested party.

That is according to Sky Sport, who report that Manchester United could take advantage of Osimhen’s situation at Napoli as Ruben Amorim searches for a prolific goalscorer amid the struggles of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

However, Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly withdrawn from contention to sign the 26-year-old as Luis Enrique is not convinced he would fit in well at the Parc des Princes.

Victor Osimhen to join the Premier League?

Osimhen has been tipped to secure a big-money Premier League transfer this summer and his Nigeria team-mate William Troost-Ekong has confirmed that a move to England is on the cards.

“I know he’s a Chelsea fan, but I also know he’s had talks with all the top teams. It’s up to him what he chooses. He will fit into every team,” Troost-Ekong recently told talkSPORT.

“I know Liverpool have spoken about getting a new striker next season. We will see.

“I’m also reading, like everyone else is, that he has a clause this summer. When he went to Galatasaray I think it worked out amazingly for him.

“I couldn’t see him playing there for another season, or anywhere else but the Premier League next season.”
