Manuel Neuer has suffered a setback and had to cut today’s training session with Bayern short, based on reports from TZ München.
The 39-year-old shot-stopper rejoined team training and initially made a good impression but then complained of pains.
It comes as a blow for Bayern who, according to reports, were set to make a final call on Friday regarding his potential availability.
It’s believed that the Bayern goalkeeper felt issues in his lower back, buttocks and calf which forced him to leave the training pitch.
Unless Neuer makes a miraculous recovery in the next 48 hours, Jonas Urbig looks set to start against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
Urbig started three of Bayern’s last five games, conceding four goals in that time – two each against FC Augsburg and Eintracht Frankfurt.
