New Liverpool boss Arne Slot has already stamped his authority on his new team by doing away with a constant feature of Jurgen Klopp‘s training regieme.
Slot took over from Klopp after the German announced he would finish up at Anfield once the 2024-25 Premier League season had concluded.
It brought an end to Klopp’s stunning tenure at the club which lasted just under nine years, having joined the club in October 2015.
In that time, Klopp helped Liverpool land their first Premier League trophy in 30 years as well as an FA Cup and two EFL Cups.
However, Klopp conceded he was ‘running out of energy’ when he first revealed his decision in January as Pep Guardiola‘s Manchester City constantly pipped them to the post in the Premier League.
Arne Slot has wasted little time in stamping his authority on Liverpool’s stars in pre-season

Slot was named as Klopp’s successor on May 20 before officially beginning on June 1.
The Dutchman has wasted little time in instilling his methods on the squad, but one eagle-eyed Liverpool fan account on X (formerly Twitter) has pointed out one big change he has already enacted.
In the latest instalment of Liverpool’s Inside Training, it shows a clip of the players getting involved in rondos.
However, Watch LFC pointed out an interesting observation.
‘Slot has banned the players from doing back heels/drag back flicks in rondos,’ the account wrote.
‘Under Klopp all the players used them when space got tight but Slot and his coaches now want players to ‘open’ their bodies instead’.
The account also noted Joe Gomez, who had only recently returned to training after being a part of England’s squad at the Euros, be forced into the middle of the rondo after successfully pulling off a flick.
Slot’s approach to rondos isn’t the only new thing he’s brought to Liverpool in pre-season.

Slot has guided Liverpool to three wins from as many games in their pre-season fixtures
A video posted by the club on X appeared to show some of the squad playfully punching one another.
Another showed Greek defender Kostas Tsimikas firing a gun at a gun range.
Liverpool have enjoyed a successful pre-season results-wise, with victories over Real Betis, Arsenal and Manchester United.
Slot’s side will take on La Liga side Sevilla on Sunday at 12:30pm in their final pre-season clash before their Premier League campaign commences at newly-promoted Ipswich Town on August 17.
