New look Gianluca Mancini revitalised for Roma and Italy in 2025

The new Gianluca Mancini is one of the symbols of Serie A leaders Roma and also scored again for Italy last night, becoming a guarantee in defence and attack.

It had been hoped that Gian Piero Gasperini would allow several older Roma players to be reborn, and nowhere has it been more obvious than with Mancini.

He was never on the transfer market, but he had been struggling for a while and needed to step up to the next level.

Mancini has a new lease of life

Gasperini’s skill has always been giving visibility to those who had lost some of the confident that had in the past.

It is not just at club level either, because the veteran has scored in the last two Italy games during this 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.

Having been so often a protagonist this season in Roma’s forward moves, he is doing the same for the Nazionale.

This also influences the plans for Roma in future, as they will focus on improving options in the final third, knowing that Mile Svilar and Mancini have them safe at the back.
