New role at Borussia Dortmund for Marco Reus?

According to “Sport Bild”, Borussia Dortmund want Marco Reus to become one of their brand ambassadors during his active career and beyond.

According to a “Sport Bild”, Marco Reus is set to become a brand ambassador for his former club Borussia Dortmund and may take on this role before the end of his playing career.

The 36-year-old is currently playing in the MLS for LA Galaxy, where he will most likely retire. Before that happens however, his former club Borussia Dortmund want him back – at least as one of the faces of the club.

The Bundesliga club is already in talks with their former captain about a deal, with Reus set to sign an official contract once he retires from professional football.

BVB managing director Carsten Cramer had already hinted in an interview with “Ruhr Nachrichten” back in April, that Reus would become a brand ambassador for them one day.

“When you know so many people there and feel so connected, I’d be pretty stupid not to return,” Reus told “Sport Bild” shortly after his transfer in 2024.

Reus could stay in the United States and help in growing the brand of Borussia Dortmund overseas or come back to Dortmund; his role includes being present at notable BVB events.
