Newcastle have been dealing with the prospect of an impromptu rebuild, having seen interest in the likes of Kieran Trippier and Callum Wilson this month, and Eddie Howe may be on the verge of losing another crucial first team player in the near future.
Trippier has been the subject of an approach from Bayern Munich, with Thomas Tuchel having seen bids of €15 million turned down by Newcastle, while Wilson has encountered interest from Atletico Madrid, who want the striker on loan.
Newcastle have insisted both players are not for sale and will not leave the club in January but the agent of Martin Dubravka has revealed that the Magpies goalkeeper could look to leave the club in the summer.
“I dare say that he will finish this season in Newcastle,” David Zika told i and Sport.SK. “I personally think, and we talked about it with Martin, that now he has excellent ‘timing’ for everything.
“He’s playing, he’s getting better and better in every game and then the European Championships will come and he’ll only have a year left on his contract. If he plays well in the Euros in Germany, he can get into an excellent position.
“I can imagine that Newcastle will offer him a contract extension for a year or two. In England, goalkeepers mature like wine and their loyalty is viewed very positively. However, we wouldn’t rule out that he will want to look somewhere else.”

Newcastle to consider selling first team stars
Dubravka has unexpectedly found himself back as Newcastle’s first-choice goalkeeper after Nick Pope suffered a long-term injury in December, thrusting the Slovakian into the spotlight from the cold.
Although a poor start to his first team return led to speculation that Howe may look to bring in another goalkeeper such as David de Gea or Hugo Lloris, Dubravka’s improved performances in recent weeks have seen Newcastle focus their attention elsewhere.
The Magpies were looking to sign a midfielder this month but financial fair play restraints have seen a shift towards outgoings, with Miguel Almiron in talks with Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab.
Newcastle have no desire to lose their key core mid-season but, with interest in Everton’s Amadou Onana and Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White, the club will need to sell players if they do wish to make any incomings before the end of the month.
