Jurgen Klopp could make a sensational return to Liverpool according to bookmakers who have placed the German as the favourite to replace Arne Slot as manager.

Despite lifting the Premier League title just six months ago, Slot has come under immense pressure at Anfield following a run of games which has seen Liverpool lose nine of their last 12 matches across all competitions.

Liverpool are believed to be willing to give Slot some time to turn their form around but speculation has continued to intensify over the Dutchman’s future.

With a potential managerial change on the horizon, the bookies have outlined a list of managers who could replace Slot as Liverpool’s next permanent manager in the coming months.

Klopp is considered the frontrunner to replace Slot, having taken on an executive role with Red Bull after leaving Liverpool in 2024.

The 58-year-old spent nine years on Merseyside, winning eight trophies, and had suggested he was not looking to return to management anytime soon but odds of 2/1 suggest that Klopp may be tempted by a crisis call from his former side.

Having been strongly linked with a switch to Anfield prior to Slot’s appointment, former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has odds as low as 3/1 to return to the club after rising tensions at Real Madrid.

Andoni Iraola is among the names as the next likely candidate to be hired by Liverpool after impressing during his time at Bournemouth, with odds of around 5/1 across various bookmakers.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner also has similar odds of 6/1, with the Austrian having been frustrated by some of his side’s transfer business and his contract at Selhurst Park set to expire next summer.

Steven Gerrard is perhaps an unsurprising name to be linked with the job, with the Liverpool legend out of work after leaving Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq earlier this year, but odds of 10/1 suggest he is not a frontrunner.

Julian Naglesmann is another manager who has long-been linked to Liverpool but the Germany boss is unlikely to leave his role prior to the World Cup next summer, although some bookmakers have also placed him at 10/1.

The likes of Simone Inzaghi and Zinedine Zidane are also thought to have outside chances of the job with 12/1 odds, while Unai Emery, Marco Silva and Xavi make up the rest of the main candidates at this time.
