Eligible to play for both Germany and Nigeria, Werder Bremen’s Justin Njinmah has left his international future open.
“Both are possible for me. I grew up in Germany and have always followed the German national team,” said the Hamburg-born Njinmah in an interview with Sport Bild.
“But the Nigerian national team is the strongest team in Africa in terms of quality,” he added.
“It would be an unbelievable honor to get the chance to play for either country one day.”
So far, however, neither the German nor the Nigerian Football Association have contacted him.
The former Borussia Dortmund youth product has made 36 appearances for Werder, scoring eight goals and providing four assists.
