Manuel Neuer has spoken! A return to the German national team is no option for the legendary goalkeeper.
After Bayern’s 3-1 victory over St. Pauli, the 39-year-old spoke about the idea of him returning to Julian Nagelsmann’s squad for the 2026 world cup:
“No. The fact is, I deliberately retired [from the national team]. My focus is clearly on the club.”
Should his opinion on the matter not change, Germany’s goalkeeper for the upcoming world cup will either be Oliver Baumann or Marc-André ter Stegen, excluding any potential injuries.
