Manchester United could launch a double raid on Nottingham Forest’s midfield this summer after outlining one of their star players as a transfer target in addition to Elliot Anderson.

Anderson is among United’s top targets for the summer, with the Red Devils desperate to revamp their midfield with the signing of at least two new players.

Speculation has continued to surround the future of captain Bruno Fernandes, while Manuel Ugarte will be allowed to leave the club alongside Casemiro, whose contract is up in the summer.

And, according to GIVEMESPORT, United have identified Ibrahim Sangare as a potential successor to Casemiro after being ‘impressed’ by the 28-year-old this season.

Sangare joined Forest for €35 million in 2023 but he has only become a first team regular this season, having formed a partnership with Anderson in the middle of the park.

United are keen to add more Premier League experience to their squad after the successful signings of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, which has led to club recruiters adding Sangare to their shortlist after some strong performances.

Man Utd look to Premier League experience in midfielder pursuit

United are understood to be narrowing their shortlist of midfield options to around 8-12 players, with Sangare one of five targets from the Premier League.

Anderson remains high on the club’s list alongside Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and Sandro Tonali of Newcastle, while Stuttgart star Angelo Stiller is also a top target.

Sangare would represent a different type of midfielder to the aforementioned names, with the Ivorian specialising as a more defensive and combative midfielder capable of replacing Casemiro.

United are expected to target two players in midfield and could therefore look for different moulds of players, which has seemingly led to interest in both Anderson and Sangare from Forest.

Sangare would likely represent a cheaper option for United due to his age and with him entering the final two years of his contract although a move is only anticipated for him if the club miss out on other targets.
