Not Marmoush! Arsenal battle Tottenham for Bundesliga sensation

Arsenal and Tottenham are interested in VfB Stuttgart midfielder Enzo Millot, according to a report.

The Frenchman has enjoyed a rapid rise to prominence in the Bundesliga in recent seasons. Since joining Stuttgart from Monaco, the 22-year-old has gone from strength to strength and is now on the verge of breaking into the senior French national team.

Stuttgart boss Sebastian Hoeness has done wonders for Millot’s development, with the all-action midfielder showing himself capable of filling every conceivable role in the centre of the park and out wide.

Technically flawless and creative, Millot is best used as an attack-minded midfielder where he can link up with teammates and create chances, but he has also at times been used – and excelled – in more withdrawn roles.

Fitted with a release clause worth just €20 million, it is expected that Millot will take the next step in his career in 2025.

And the Frenchman certainly has no shortage of suitors. According to CaughtOffside, Arsenal and Tottenham are among the clubs interested in the 22-year-old, while Galatasaray have also been linked in recent times.

Arsenal, of course, will have come across Millot during their scouting trips to Germany, with the Gunners keeping tabs on the likes of Omar Marmoush at Eintracht Frankfurt and Benjamin Sesko at RB Leipzig, who was their top striker target in the summer.

This season, Millot has contributed with eight goals and five assists in 24 games, while he netted six and assisted 11 during Stuttgart’s spectacular runners-up 2023/24 campaign.

The report goes on to claim that the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City have also been keeping tabs on Millot. His versatility undoubtedly makes him attractive. At Arsenal, he could cover and provide competition for Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino et al.
