Nuno Mendes makes transfer decision amid Man Utd interest

Paris Saint-Germain defender Nuno Mendes has made the decision to stay with the French champions amid interest from Manchester United, as per L’Equipe.

The Portuguese has entered the last 18 months of his contract and there has been speculation that United could look to sign him in January or this summer.

However, that may not happen. The left-back has been convinced to commit his long-term future to Les Parisiens after speaking with manager Luis Enrique.

He is poised to put pen-to-paper on a five-year contract in the coming weeks which will end his prospects of reuniting with manager Ruben Amorim at United.

United have had plenty of troubles in the left-back and left wing-back departments this term. Diogo Dalot has been very inconsistent from the defensive position.

Tyrell Malacia has been the immediate deputy for the role, but Amorim has decided to loan him out. He has yet to impress since his long-term injury lay-off.

Amorim may want a new solution before the transfer window closes.
