Milan have officially announced they ‘will not continue their journey’ with Sergio Conceicao after just six months, as Max Allegri signed a contract today.

Conceicao had taken over from Paulo Fonseca on December 30 with a contract to June 2026, but it always included a clause allowing the Rossoneri to terminate in June 2025 without paying him any extra wages.

That was activated today and the formal announcement made with a statement on the club website this evening.

Milan dismiss Sergio Conceicao

“AC Milan and Sérgio Conceição will not continue their journey together next season,” read the statement.

“The Club would like to thank Sérgio and his staff for their commitment, professionalism and dedication shown during their time leading the First Team over the past few months.

“The AC Milan family parts with the coach who won the 50th trophy in the Club’s history, wishing him the best for the future.”

Conceicao won the Supercoppa Italiana in only his second match in charge, fighting back from 2-0 down to beat Inter 3-2 in Saudi Arabia.

However, he then lost the Coppa Italia Final to Bologna and finished eighth in Serie A, failing to qualify for any European tournament.

Allegri has been chosen to replace him, today putting pen to paper on a two-year contract with option for a third season.

It is likely that statement will be released on Friday morning, welcoming Allegri back to San Siro over 11 years since his last experience with this club.
