André Silva leaves the Bundesliga after his six-year spell with three clubs.
Former Portuguese international André Silva leaves RB Leipzig permanently as he has joined newly-promoted LaLiga side Elche. The transfer fee is reported to reach €2.5 million with add-ons.
Werder Bremen were interested in bringing back the striker, but he preferred a move back to Spain, where he spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Real Sociedad. Elche only gave a contract until 2026 for the 29-year-old striker, but there is an option to extend for another year.
Silva scored 40 Bundesliga goals in his two seasons for Eintracht Frankfurt, including a personal-best 28 goals in the 2020/21 season. That led to a move to Leipzig for €23 million. However, he has only managed to reach double digits in his debut season there. After a two-year absence, Elche will start their LaLiga campaign at home against Real Betis tonight.
