Official: Bayern secure youth talent Cardozo on long-term deal

The Brazilian attacker is expected to flourish and eventually make his way into Bayern’s first team within a few years.

Bayern Munich has extended the contract of youth academy attacking talent Maycon Cardozo on a long-term basis.

The Brazilian-born player, whom BILD tipped to be offered an extension after impressive performances, is seen as one of for the future. 

“Maycon joined our U-17 team at the Bayern campus just over a year ago via our international youth programs.

“After strong performances in the U-19s during the first half of the season, he was promoted to our reserves during the winter break.

“He was a key player in attack in both victories against Unterhaching [1-0 win] and Hankofen-Hailing [2-0 win].

“We are delighted that he will be taking the next steps with us and are excited to see how he continues to develop,” said Jochen Sauer, Bayern’s director of youth development.
