Following UEFA’s decision to ban fans from blocks 111 to 114, Bayern announced that the entire Südkurve will be closed for the Champions League game against Union Saint-Gilloise.

At the start of the week, the Bavarians’ CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen even hinted that the entire stand may be shut against the Belgian club – now it has come to fruition.

At Bayern’s home matches, the lower tier of the Südkurve do not use block-by-block ticketing meaning 9,336 tickets for blocks 109 to 117, which leads to a sticking point.

Therefore, it is technically impossible for the club to selectively cancel only the 4,800 tickets for blocks 111 to 114. So now, all tickets for the Südkurve will be void against Saint-Gilloise.

However, the German record champions have already confirmed that the club will refund the price of each ticket to the respective purchasers of said tickets for the game.

All tickets for the Südkurve will thus become invalid and will not grant entry to the Allianz Arena for the match against Saint-Gilloise which is scheduled for Wednesday, 21 January.
