The 66-cap Austrian international bid farewell to the Breisgau club as he moves to Denmark.
SC Freiburg and Michael Gregoritsch are parting ways after three years together as the centre forward joins Brøndby IF.
The towering 31-year-old marksman has signed a three-year contract with the Danish first division club.
Freiburg will reportedly receive a transfer fee of approximately €1.5million one year before his contract was set to expire.
Gregoritsch initially arrived at the Breisgauers on a free transfer from fellow Bundesliga side FC Augsburg in 2022.
The Austrian international, who was linked with Werder Bremen in recent weeks, departs with 30 goals and 12 assists in 107 appearances.
“Michael is a type of player we haven’t had in our squad so far. He is physically strong and clever,” Brøndby’s director football, Benjamin Schmedes said.
“He has strong heading ability, a strong left foot, and good technique, allowing him to play a central role both as a target man and in the build-up play”.
