Chelsea talent Angelo Gabriel has officially completed a permanent transfer to Al-Nassr.

The Riyadh giants were very busy indeed before the Saudi Pro League window slammed shut. After missing out on PSG outcast Milan Skriniar, Al-Nassr proceeded to sign Mohamed Simakan from RB Leipzig for a sizeable €45 million.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo’s side also wanted to bolster their attacking options and they did so with the arrival of Angelo Gabriel of Chelsea. The Brazilian winger has joined in a €23m deal after being signed by the Blues for €15m last summer.

At Stamford Bridge, the 19-year-old had become something of a forgotten man and, rather than using up another one of their rare international loan spots, Chelsea decided to offload Angelo permanently.

Al-Nassr sign Angelo

The teenager will hope that his time in Riyadh is more successful than his stints in west London and, as a matter of fact, Strasbourg. After arriving at Chelsea last summer, Angelo was immediately loaned to the BlueCo affiliate in Ligue 1.

However, the player struggled to acclimatise to life in Strasbourg and was mostly hit-and-miss in Alsace. Ahead of this summer, it was thought that he would go out on loan again, but no move to a European side materialised.

Ultimately, the Saudis have come to Chelsea’s rescue again, just as they did last year. The Premier League club have managed to offload another young player they had stockpiled for seemingly no reason other than to flip him for profit.

The former Santos prospect has become another name quickly forgotten at Stamford Bridge, leaving with a grand total of zero senior appearances for Chelsea under his belt. Perhaps he will be able to revive his still-young career alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Sadio Mane at Al-Nassr.
