Liverpool and Italy international Federico Chiesa have officially been crowned Premier League champions for the 2024-25 season after a 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening.
Arne Slot’s side have won the Premier League title with four games to spare, with a tally of 82 points from the 34 matches they have played in the competition so far this campaign.
Goals from Luis Diaz, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo, Mo Salah and an own goal from Destiny Udogie provided a 5-1 result against Tottenham at Anfield on Sunday to mathematically confirm the title.
Official: Liverpool and Chiesa win the 2024-25 Premier League title
This is Liverpool’s 20th top-flight title victory, but only their second since the introduction of the Premier League in 1992. They are now level with Manchester United for the record of most English top-flight title wins.
It is a particularly impressive achievement for Arne Slot, who only took charge of the team at the beginning of the 2024-25 season following the departure of club legend Jurgen Klopp.
What is even more impressive is the fact that Slot has won the title with just one new signing over the course of the 2024-25 season.
That player was Chiesa, who joined Liverpool from Juventus in a €15m deal at the end of the summer transfer window.

The former Bianconeri forward has struggled to force his way into the Liverpool starting XI this season, and has made just 12 appearances for a total of 395 minutes across all competitions this season.
Only four of those appearances have come in the Premier League for a total of 33 minutes this season.
By the old rules Premier League, players needed a minimum of five league appearances to qualify for a winners’ medal.
Fortunately for Chiesa, those rules have since changed, and teams are now given 40 medals to distribute among the squad and staff, as long as those who have made five or more appearances receive one. That means that he is still likely to get a piece of personal silverware, even if he does not make another appearance in the league this season.
