The 2.Bundesliga side have added international experience to their ranks ahead of the upcoming 2025-26 season.

SpVgg Greuther Fürth has signed Brynjar Ingi Bjarnason from Norwegian club HamKam, as per their latest social media post.

The second division club announced that 17-time Icelandic international has joined and signed a contract with the Bavarians until 2027.

Last season, the central defender just 13 appearances in the Eliteserien where he provided a solitary assist.

“Ingi naturally brings a great deal of skill for a central defender, is very strong in the air, and can also use this strength well offensively.

“He has good build-up play and is very dynamic. Ingi has a presence, which is an important factor, especially in his position.

“We want to integrate him as quickly as possible and are already looking forward to him,” said Kleeblatt head coach Thomas Kleine.
