Official: Key member of Kompany’s backroom team joins Anderlecht

The 32-year-old has bid farewell to players and colleagues at Säbener Straße as he departs to continue his career in Belgium.

Athletic coach, Bram Geers, is leaving Bayern Munich and returning to Anderlecht, the Belgian Pro League side has announced. 

Considered a key member of Vincent Kompany’s staff, Geers has been appointed as the head of Anderlecht’s fitness department.

Geers already said his goodbyes to Bayern’s team and staff yesterday. He had worked with Kompany at all his coaching stations.

In the summer of 2022, together with Vincent Kompany, he initially made the move to English Championship side Burnley FC.

Geers helped the Clarets achieve promotion to the Premier League and won the Bundesliga with the Bavarian giants last season.

“I would like to thank Bayern’s sporting management for their constructive cooperation in this process,” said Anderlecht’s Sports CEO Tim Borguet.
