William Bøving completes his permanent transfer from Sturm Graz to Mainz 05.

Ahead of their return to European football, Mainz further bolstered themselves with the signing of William Bøving from Sturm Graz. The Denmark U21 international scored 11 goals in the Austrian Bundesliga last season.

He also started all eight league phase games for Sturm Graz in the Champions League. According to Transfermarkt, the transfer fee is €3.5 million. Bøving signs a contract until 2029, and he’ll wear number 14 in Mainz.

The 22-year-old striker will have his compatriot at the helm of Mainz. Bo Henriksen won the “Denmark Coach of the Year” accolade earlier this summer. Mainz’s fellow new signing Benedict Hollerbach will be on the sidelines after a serious injury.
