Napoli have this evening published an official press release on their website, to clarify a matter regarding press speculation on their transfer market.
Various reports in the Italian press have speculated that head coach Antonio Conte is making decisions regarding the market by himself but the club have denied this is the case, arguing it is the president, sporting director and head coach who make the decisions together – for the good of the club.
Napoli slam press speculation – the statement
Published on the Napoli website, the statement reads: “Napoli would like to thank the journalists, editors-in-chief, and directors of all media outlets for their attention toward the club.
“We would like to stress that it is always and exclusively NAPOLI that conducts the transfer market — not unilaterally the President, the Sporting Director, or the Coach.
“De Laurentiis, Manna, and Conte make decisions together, but it is NAPOLI that handles the transfer market.“
