Frederik Rønnow has officially extended his contract with 1.FC Union Berlin, the club announced on Saturday morning, September 27.
As is always the case, the Köpenick club from the German capital have not disclosed the details of the Danish shot-stopper’s new deal.
Since his transfer in 2021, Rønnow has become indispensable in the Union goal, and his statistics speak for themselves.
During the 2024/25 campaign, he impressed with a save percentage of sixty-seven percent among the best keepers in the league.
Furthermore, his speed and timing and fast reflexes, along with his strong presence on the field, make him a vital player to Union.
The 33-year-old has been between the posts in 130 competitive matches, keeping a clean sheet thirty-eight times.
“Union is not just a club for me, but a place where I am seen and appreciated not just as a player, but as a person.
“The closeness to the fans is something very special – you feel their support in every game, in every moment.
“The unity in the team and the trust that is placed in me here mean a lot to me. That’s why I extended my contract.
“Because Union feels like home to me – like a second family where I feel completely comfortable,” Rønnow added.
