Brentford FC have completed the signing of Sepp van den Berg, who had also been heavily linked with Bayer Leverkusen.

It was reported earlier this week that Bayer Leverkusen had held talks to sign Sepp van den Berg from Liverpool.

Die Werkself had reportedly identified van den Berg as a possible replacement for Odilon Kossounou, who could be on his way to England.

However, Brentford FC were also keen and, unlike Leverkusen, were prepared to sign the player immediately.

And now the 22-year-old defender, who spent last season on loan at Mainz, has been officially unveiled as a Brentford player.

Leverkusen will now be forced to look for a replacement for Kossounou elsewhere should the Ivorian leave before the transfer window closes.
