Since arriving at VfL Wolfsburg on loan from FC Copenhagen last summer, Denis Vavro has established himself as a regular starter in central defence.

Now, Die Wölfe have confirmed that they have exercised their option to sign the centre-back on a permanent deal.

“Denis’ mentality makes him a hugely important player for us,” commented VfL Wolfsburg sporting director Sebastian Schindzielorz.

“He brings tremendous fighting spirit and a great deal of passion to the pitch. He has continued to develop with us and has quickly established himself as a key figure in our defence. As such, we’ve decided to take up the option to sign Denis on a permanent deal. We’re pleased that he’ll continue to be part of our journey in the future.”

Vavro added:

“The club has placed a great deal of trust in me from day one.

“In Wolfsburg, I’ve found an environment that is incredibly good for me, both in a sporting sense and on a personal level. I’m therefore all the more pleased to continue to wear the VfL shirt in the future. I’ll continue to give my all to help the team and achieve our goals in the coming season.”
