Union Berlin have completed the permanent signing of South Korean attacker Woo-yeong Jeong following a season-long loan from VfB Stuttgart.
The 25-year-old, who spent the 2024/25 campaign on loan in Köpenick, made 23 Bundesliga appearances for Union, scoring three goals and providing two assists as the club finished 13th in the table.
Jeong’s contract with Stuttgart had originally run until June 2026, but the two clubs have now agreed on a permanent transfer.
“Woo-yeong was an important part of our team during our runner-up season,” said VfB Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth.
“Beyond his footballing ability, ‘Woo’ impressed with his commitment and work ethic. After his loan spell at Union, we’ve now agreed on a full transfer with him and the Union management. We thank him for his time in Stuttgart and wish him all the best for the future.”
Jeong joined Stuttgart in the summer of 2023 from SC Freiburg and featured in 29 competitive matches for the Swabians, tallying two goals and three assists during his stint.
