As previously reported, it is now official that Nicolò Zaniolo has accepted a €15,000 fine for his brawl with Roma youth team players while representing Fiorentina on May 26.

The Italy international was on loan with Fiorentina at the time from Galatasaray, though the club had already decided not to activate the option to make that move permanent.

He was attending a youth league semi-final match between Fiorentina and Roma at Viola Park when entering into the Giallorossi locker room after the game.

Roma accused Zaniolo of drunkenly insulting and then physically attacking the two teenage players, Mattia Almaviva and Marco Litti.

He insisted that he had gone in and left the moment there was ‘provocation’ from the youth team squad.

An investigation found that although there was an altercation, it was not a violent physical assault.

“Zaniolo struck Almaviva on the neck with slaps, then pushed Litti,” read the statement from the sporting justice system.

The player, now back at base with parent club Galatasaray, accepted the plea bargain of a €15,000 fine.
