Former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has opened the door for a shock return to the club this month, according to Manchester World.
The Norwegian has been out of duty since his dismissal at Besiktas. He has received a few offers in the Championship, but he has his sights on a bigger job elsewhere.
It is now claimed that Solskjaer would be open to returning to the Red Devils on a caretaker basis until May following the club’s decision to part ways with Ruben Amorim.
Amorim has taken the club to sixth in the Premier League this campaign, but the hierarchy were not satisfied with the performances and opted for a change at the helm.
Solskjaer had reasonable success with an attacking brand of football at the Red Devils, and the board could be tempted to re-sign him on a short-term basis until the summer.
The Red Devils are likely to appoint a new manager next summer.
