Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins is open to joining Manchester United this summer if they are unable to land Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
Sesko has been identified as United’s primary striker target this month, but they have yet to find an agreement with Leipzig for the Slovenian.
United have offered £73.5m on the table for the 22-year-old marksman, but Leipzig have received a higher package of £79m from Newcastle.
Hence, the Red Devils are not assured to win the race for the striker.
Amidst this, it is claimed that Watkins is open to making the switch to Old Trafford and could push for a move if United make an effort to sign him.
Villa have been adamant that Watkins won’t leave for less than £60 million, but The Sun claim that a package of £40m could be enough to land him.
Watkins was on the radar of Arsenal at the beginning of the year, but they are no longer keen, having landed Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP.
