Olmo: Barcelona dressing room ‘like a party’, youngsters ‘relaxed’ ahead of Inter clash

Dani Olmo revealed that Barcelona’s youngest players are feeling ‘relaxed’ and ‘having fun’ just hours before a decisive Champions League clash against Inter — a match that could send the Blaugrana to their first final since 2015.

Hansi Flick’s side heads to San Siro following a thrilling 3-3 draw in the first leg, but there’s no sign of anxiety in the camp. Still, Olmo acknowledges that the squad is well aware of the importance of the week ahead, with a La Liga showdown against Real Madrid coming up at the weekend.

Olmo looks likely to get a starting spot tomorrow against the Nerazzurri, after playing more than 60 minutes last week.

“We’re back in shape, and I see the team well-prepared, energetic, and motivated,” Olmo said at a pre-match press conference, as quoted by Football-Espana.

“We know it’s an important week. We’re one game away from reaching another final… We’ll think about the Real Madrid game later.

“I don’t want to give you a headline… but it’s like a party in the dressing room.

“The youngsters don’t give the situation as much importance as they should. They are relaxed, having fun. It’s a healthy group, with great people and very good players. The common goal is to win.”

Inter captain Lautaro Martínez is expected to recover in time for the decider and make the starting XI, while Benjamin Pavard has been left out of the squad after experiencing discomfort in his injured ankle during Monday’s training session.

Meanwhile, Flick confirmed that Robert Lewandowski will be available ‘from the bench’.
