The Sunday League team full of retired Premier League talent may have a new star joining their already gifted ranks in the near future.
Wythenshawe FC Vets, who compete in the Cheshire Veterans Football League, have gone viral in recent months after forming a team with over 1,800 top-flight appearances between them.
The likes of former Manchester City star Stephen Ireland, midfielder Danny Drinkwater – known for his stints at Chelsea and Leicester City – and once Newcastle hero, Papiss Cisse, are just a handful of the big names who regularly take to the pitch for the ninth-tier side.
And now eight-time Olympic champion sprinter Usain Bolt has admitted that he would be interested in becoming the latest sporting legend to join Wythenshawe.
When asked by talkSPORT if he would join the club, Bolt responded: ‘Listen, I’m ready. I’m ready. If I get into some shape, I’m ready to go.’
The Cheshire side hit the headlines in October and November after a series of high-scoring victories, including a thumping 11-0 win over South Liverpool, in which Cisse netted six goals.

The likes of Ravel Morrison, Danny Simpson, Phil Bardsley, Dale Stephens, Glenn Whelan, Joleon Lescott, Danny Webber, Maynor Figueroa, Emile Heskey, and George Boyd are all also involved.
Last season, Antonio Valencia and Wes Morgan also played on Tuesdays for the star-studded non-league side.
The club has over 30,000 followers on the social media app TikTok, and are continuing to add ex-Premier League talent to their pool of players, with even Wayne Rooney said to be interested in turning out for the club.
Now Bolt could be the next big name on the conveyor belt of superstars in Cheshire, and while he is known for his incredible exploits in athletics, he does have a history in football.
The track and field legend completed a shock move to A-League side Central Coast Mariners in 2018 as he pursued his dream to play football professionally after retiring from athletics.
The Jamaican played two pre-season games for Central Coast and even found the back of the net twice, but quit his trial in November 2018 after rejecting a one-season deal.
