PLAYER RATINGS: Antony enjoyed one of his better days after Wembley ear-cupping antics but which Man United duo recorded just a FIVE out of 10 after frustrating 1-1 Burnley draw?

Manchester United‘s nightmare season took another turn for the worse after they were held to a 1-1 draw with Burnley, further piling the pressure on Erik ten Hag.

Winger Antony looked to have secured a crucial victory for United after scoring his first Premier League goal of the season but the hosts were pegged back late on.

Casemiro‘s loose ball had invited pressure in United’s box and goalkeeper Andre Onana wildly swung out a fist before making contact with Zeki Amdouni’s head.

Amdouni then dusted himself down to send Onana the wrong way from 12 yards, leaving Ten Hag’s side just a point ahead of seventh-placed Newcastle.

Here, Mail Sport‘s CHRIS WHEELER has rated the players…

MANCHESTER UNITED (4-2-3-1)

ANDRE ONANA 5.5

Two vital saves denied Foster in the first half, as well as keeping out two efforts from Odobert, but undid his good work with a careless challenge on Amdouni which led to the Burnley substitute scoring from the spot. Onana got away with a similar one against Wolves at the start of the season so he could have no complaints.

AARON WAN-BISSAKA 6

Defensively sound and even had the chance of a rare goal in the second half, but took too long to have a shot and the opportunity was gone.

CASEMIRO 5.5

Played as an emergency centre back again and looked comfortable until his silly header played United into trouble and led to them conceding a late penalty.

HARRY MAGUIRE 7

Made several crucial interceptions to break up Burnley attacks. Maguire has turned into Mr Reliable this season and this was another steady performance from the England man.

DIOGO DALOT 6

Didn’t influence the game as much as he can, but once again didn’t look out of place filling in at left-back.

KOBBIE MAINOO 5

There were boos from the Old Trafford crowd when he was replaced by McTominay in the second half – more for the decision to take off Mainoo than bring on McTominay. Not his best game and drilled a shot wide in the first half.

CHRISTIAN ERIKSEN 5.5

Just wide with an effort in the first half but angry with himself in the second after failing to play Antony through on goal from a quickly-taken free kick. Feels like he’s playing catch-up after having a peripheral role this season.

ANTONY 7.5

Bright performance from the Brazilian right from the start, and it was rewarded with a goal when he seized on a defensive mistake to score in the 79th minute. Definitely one of his better days after the ear-cupping antics at Wembley last weekend.

BRUNO FERNANDES 7

Rattled the woodwork in the first half but couldn’t make it nine goals in nine games after his heroics in midweek. Second half was a mixture of excellent and very wayward passing from the United skipper.

ALEJANDRO GARNACHO 6.5

The Argentina winger was full of running and gave Burnley penalty of problems down the left. All that was missing was a goal. Will be pleased to have got through 90 minutes after looking unhappy at being substituted in recent weeks.

RASMUS HOJLUND 5

Typically industrious performance from the Dane but the chances aren’t really falling for him at the moment and he couldn’t add to his goal in midweek. One of the first players replaced in a double substitution in the first half.

BURNLEY (4-4-2)

ARIJANET MURIC 6.5

Had his shaky moments, particularly with a poor pass out in the first half, but made some good saves. The pick of them was from Garnacho’s shot.

LOREZ ASSIGNON 6

Tough time against Garnacho but got a vital block on another effort from the Argentina winger in the first half.

DARA O’SHEA 7

Hardly put a foot wrong at the back and had a decent sight of goal in the first half when he skied a shot over the bar from a corner.

MAXIME ESTEVE 7

Busy afternoon but stood strong and the highlight was a great recovery challenge to deny Fernandes an almost certain goal.

VITINHO 6

Had his hands full against a revitalised Antony and would have been sweating in the final seconds when his fellow Brazilian’s cross hit his hand but no penalty was given.

SANDER BERGE 5

Poor pass let in Antony for the United goal and he failed to atone with a last-ditch challenge on the United man.

JOSH CULLEN 6

Burnley skipper’s volley almost led to a goal for Foster. Booked for a foul on Antony after an hour.

LYLE FOSTER 6.5

Caused United a few problems, notably in the first half with a header and one-on-one chance against Onana.

WILSON ODOBERT 6.5

Had a curling effort from range tipped over by Onana. Booked for treading on Garnacho but got back well to deny the winger towards the end.

JACOB BRUUN LARSEN 5.5

Had little impact on the game and was replaced by Gudmundsson towards the end.

DAVID DATRO FOFANA 5

Had a chance in the opening seconds but shot straight at Onana, and was the first player substituted early in the second half.

Subs: Trafford, Taylor, Gudmundsson (for Bruun Larsen 72, 6), Brownhill, Rodriguez, Benson, Ekdal, Amdouni (for Fofana 57, 6)
