Player Ratings: Juventus 1-1 Atalanta – Tudor’s paradox, another Lookman for La Dea

A goal from Juan Cabal helped Juventus avoid defeat against Atalanta, who seem to have found the new Ademola Lookman in Kamaldeen Sulemana.

Juventus: Di Gregorio 6; Gatti 5 (64′ Joao Mario 6), Bremer 5 (75′ Cabal 6.5), Kelly 6.5; Kalulu 5.5, Koopmeiners 5.5, Thuram 5.5 (57′ McKennie 5.5), Cambiaso 6; Adzic 4.5 (57′ Vlahovic 5), Yildiz 5; Openda 5 (63′ Zhegrova 6). Coach: Tudor 5.5.

Best Juventus player: Cabal 6.5 – Introduced from the bench to replace the injured Bremer, the Colombia international scored his first goal since returning from a cruciate ligament injury. Kelly’s performance should also be highlighted, the best Juventus centre-back today.

Lowest Juventus rating: Adzic 4.5 – Many poor passes and lost possession in the build-up to Atalanta’s opening goal.

Juventus coach: Tudor 5.5 – The paradox is that he has plenty of options in attack, but Juventus struggle to create big chances to score. His men moved the ball too slowly and only tried to hurt opponents through sterile crosses that the Atalanta defence managed easily.

Best Atalanta player: Sulemana 7 – Another Lookman for Atalanta, in a good way. The ex-Southampton winger scored his second consecutive goal and was always a threat when he had the ball. Perhaps he was subbed off too early.

Lowest Atalanta rating: Kossounou 5 – Paved the way for Juventus’ equaliser by miskicking the ball. A very good performance until that moment, but the mistake probably cost Atalanta the win.

Atalanta coach: Juric 6 – It may not be the same Atalanta as the Gasperini era, but they haven’t lost their soul. La Dea played on par with Juventus and could have doubled their lead in the second half, when Krstovic missed the target with his team already leading 1-0. They could defend the draw after De Roon was sent off.
