After seven years in Germany, Alassane Pléa is being linked with a return to his homeland.

According to L’Équipe, Ligue 1 side Lille are interested in signing the Borussia Mönchengladbach forward this summer as they look to replace the departing Jonathan David.

With just one year remaining on his contract, Pléa is reportedly open to the move, giving Gladbach a final opportunity to cash in before his deal expires.

The Lille-born striker joined Die Fohlen from Nice in 2018 for €23 million and has since made 235 appearances, scoring 68 goals and contributing 53 assists.

Saturday’s home game against Wolfsburg, which he has been declared fit for, could turn out to be his final appearance for the club.
