PSG settles Kylian Mbappe FIGHT over unpaid wages from final season in Paris

PSG has settled its fight over unpaid wages to Kylian Mbappe.

The reigning Champions League winners have decided not to appeal a court decision demanding the club pay Mbappe €60 million, according to the Daily Mail.

Mbappe had alleged that he never received his bonuses and wages from his final season at PSG, 2023/24. The player had sued the club for €264.6 million, while the club counter-sued him for just over €240 million.

It was the final season in a prolonged battle between club and player, as Mbappe seemed to have his eyes set on his eventual destination, Real Madrid, for years before he arrived in the Spanish capital on a free transfer in the summer of 2024.

The club said in a statement, “In a spirit of responsibility and in order to put a definitive end to a procedure that has gone on for far too long, the club has chosen not to prolong this dispute. PSG is now resolutely focused on the future, concentrated on its sporting project and collective success.”

Court finds PSG failed to pay three months of Mbappe’s salary

The court landed upon the €60 million sum as it learned the club failed to pay three months of Mbappe’s salary. The player, meanwhile, had sued for a full year’s salary.

Mbappe argued that PSG failed in its ‘duty of safety,’ while also alleging moral harassment and ‘concealed work.’

PSG’s case was that they should not have been made to pay Mbappe the unpaid wages because he acted ‘disloyally’ for not revealing his intention to leave on a free transfer until it was too late for the French giants to receive a transfer fee.

The club also argued that Mbappe went back on an agreement for a reduced salary if he decided to leave on a free, which they said was reached in August 2023. Mbappe’s representation said no evidence of such an agreement was presented.

Regardless of the ruling, both parties seem to have moved on to better times.

PSG finally won their long-awaited Champions League trophy to finish the 2024/25 season, the team’s first without Mbappe.

The French forward scored 43 goals in 56 games in his first season in Spain. In 2025/26, he has scored 39 times in 36 appearances, which would be the best goals-per-game ratio in his career if he can sustain it.
