Pulisic: ‘Milan train with Maignan for that pass’

Christian Pulisic reveals the Mike Maignan assist against Frosinone is something Milan work on in training ‘a lot, so I know he’s capable of playing a pass like that.’

The prospects were not reassuring going into San Siro this evening, as the injury crisis was so bad that Theo Hernandez had to play as a central defender.

However, they emerged with a 3-1 win over Frosinone thanks to Luka Jovic’s first goal for the club, a Pulisic finish after sensational first touch on the long Maignan clearance and Fikayo Tomori tap-in.

“For me it’s not the best goal that I’ve scored here, but obviously a nice goal and good to help the team to win today,” Pulisic told DAZN.

Maignan is the only goalkeeper to have registered an assist in each of the last three seasons in the top five European leagues.

“We train with this a lot, so I know he’s capable of playing a pass like that. It was amazing, right on my foot, just perfect.”

This guarantees that Milan will remain in third place regardless of tomorrow’s result between Napoli and Inter.

“It’s very important, we built some momentum in the league, now we just keep taking it game by game and hopefully continue to win.”
