Raheem Sterling has claimed he would ‘love’ to represent England again at the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament.

The struggling Chelsea star was on the end of a 4-1 lashing by Liverpool earlier in the week.

Following his move from Manchester City, the Englishman has struggled to find any real form.

Mauricio Pochettino‘s side currently sit tenth in the league and is facing questions about his future.

But the former Liverpool winger has revealed he is still aiming to make Gareth Southgate‘s squad.

Gareth Southgate has not selected Sterling for five of England’s last training camps

Asked how he felt about missing out on selection for the past five international breaks, Sterling said: ‘All I can do is control what I can do on a football field.

‘I can try to get those levels up to be with the national team again, which is what I love to do.’

Having featured so prominently for the England manager during his seven-year spell, the 28-year-old’s absence has raised previously unthinkable questions about whether Sterling will make the Three Lions squad for next summer’sEuropean Championships.

Sterling has earned 55 of his 82 England caps under Southgate, with only Harry Kane, Harry Maguire, Jordan Pickford, Kyle Walker and John Stones featuring more.

His last appearance for England was during their World Cup quarter-final defeat to France.
