Marcus Rashford has asked to leave Manchester United in a sensational report that has broken regarding the future of the England international.

Rashford has remained a regular under manager Erik ten Hag, despite another indifferent start to the season.

In the opening eight Premier League games of the campaign, he has scored only once, while two of the four goals he has grabbed across all competitions came in a home match against Barnsley in the EFL Cup.

On top of this, Rashford has fallen foul with Ten Hag due to disciplinary clashes.

El Nacional reports, however, that the 26-year-old attacker has now asked his agent to find him a new club.

It is claimed that Rashford wants to leave Man Utd due to his belief that “there is neither an ambitious or stable project” at the club.

Whereas Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and PSG wanted him previously, it is said that these clubs are “no longer at all interested”.

There are, however, three clubs who would like to sign him: Marseille, Aston Villa and Napoli.

Of this trio, Napoli are the club pushing hardest to sign Rashford, with Antonio Conte the driving force behind this.

The dream for the Serie A outfit is to pair him with Romelu Lukaku and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Napoli have already done recent business with United, with Scott McTominay leaving Old Trafford to join the Italians this summer with some success.

The biggest issue, though, will be having one of these clubs match Rashford’s current wage, which is estimated at €360,000 per week.

Could Rashford wait Ten Hag out?

With the future of Ten Hag very much up in the air, there has been a suggestion that Rashford could simply wait for the manager to leave and hope for better fortunes under the next boss.

After months of poor form, though, that may not necessarily follow for the winger.

For example, Xavi is reported to have earmarked a move for a €100 million man to replace Rashford if he were to become Man Utd’s next manager.
