Rasmus Hojlund broke a record set by Cristiano Ronaldo as Manchester United overcame Wolves with a 4-3 victory.

Hojlund provided the assist for Marcus Rashford’s early goal at Molineux before getting on the scoresheet himself.

In United’s previous Premier League game, a 2-2 draw at home to Tottenham, Hojlund also scored and set up a goal.

As reported by TNT Sports, Hojlund, 20, is now the youngest United player to score and assist in consecutive Premier League games.

The record was previously held by Ronaldo, who achieved the feat as a 21-year-old in 2007.

In early 2007 Ronaldo scored and assisted in consecutive Premier League games against Watford and Tottenham.

Since joining United last summer Hojlund has scored nine goals in 27 appearances, while he has provided two assists.

United are in seventh place in the Premier League following their victory against Wolves.

In a hugely eventful encounter, Erik ten Hag’s side established a two-goal lead through Rashford and Hojlund.

Wolves got a goal back courtesy of a penalty from Pablo Sarabia, with Scott McTominay then restoring United’s two-goal advantage.

In a dramatic conclusion to the game Wolves pulled level following goals from Max Kilman and Pedro Neto but Kobbie Mainoo struck in the seventh minute of stoppage time to secure all three points for United.

United are back in action on Sunday when they host West Ham.
