Atletico Madrid have submitted an offer of €25 million plus bonuses for Napoli striker Giacomo Raspadori, as the La Liga side close in on a deal for the 25-year-old.

According to what has been reported by Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Atletico submitted their first offer today as negotiations continue between the two clubs.

Di Marzio reports that a breakthrough could be imminent and that today (Friday, August 8) will be a vital day in the deal.

Atletico close in on Raspadori

Raspadori played 26 times for Napoli in Serie A last season as Antonio Conte’s side won the Scudetto. He scored six goals and provided one assist in 1097 league minutes, playing a relatively bit-part role in the team’s campaign.

With the arrival of Lorenzo Lucca at Napoli, Raspadori was pushed further to the fringe and Atletico were waiting to swoop in for the former Sassuolo forward.

If the deal progresses, it will be Atletico’s second Serie A signing of the summer – after they completed a move for left-back Matteo Ruggeri from Atalanta.
