Ravanelli: En-Nesyri not on Juventus’ level, Bianconeri must try for Osimhen

Former Juventus striker Fabrizio Ravanelli believes the Serie A giants must try to sign Victor Osimhen in the summer, while Youssef En-Nesyri wouldn’t have made a difference at the Allianz Stadium.

Former Juventus star Ravanelli examined the form of the Bianconeri strikers and the club’s moves during the January transfer window, in an interview with Tuttosport.

David did not find the net in Juventus’ 3-0 Coppa Italia loss against Atalanta on Thursday, but has netted four times in his last five Serie A appearances.

Ex-Juventus striker Ravanelli satisfied with David

“He was a top player at Lille. After a tricky start to the season, he seems calmer on an inner level,” Ravanelli said.

“You can see he’s playing calmly now, and the trust given by Spalletti is helping him. The Canadian can be an added value in the second part of the season to help Juventus reach their targets.”

The injured Vlahovic will return to action next month, but according to Ravanelli, the Serbian striker won’t play alongside David.

“I wouldn’t say so. I think Vlahovic and David can’t play together as they are two centre-forwards,” he argued.

Despite David’s good form in 2026, Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti demanded a new centre-forward in the winter transfer window, but the Bianconeri only ended up signing winger Jeremie Boga and right-back Emil Holm.

“I agree with Luciano that this Juventus side would have needed a classic centre-forward up front. They lack that sort of striker,” Ravanelli said.

‘Juventus must try to sign Osimhen’

“I’d chase a top striker like Osimhen in the summer. Juventus must try to sign him because he’d be perfect for Spalletti’s playing style. The coach knows Osimhen well and would know how to use him best. Osimhen would be an excellent striker for Juve. He is strong in the air, fast, and he attacks the space. Furthermore, he even presses the opposing defenders during the build-up.”

Randal Kolo Muani and En-Nesyri were among the Juventus targets last month.

“Kolo Muani could have been helpful. He’s an excellent player, and he already knew the club and the players,” Ravanelli concluded.

“He would have been useful, while En-Nesyri doesn’t have much to do with the Bianconeri. He’s not at the Juventus level, and he would not have shifted the balance. Rather than signing En-Nesyri, better not to sign anyone.”
