RB Leipzig chief slams “disastrous” performance against Bayern

Oliver Mintzlaff made it clear that he was far from impressed with RB Leipzig’s performance in their 0-6 loss to Bayern Munich.

RB Leipzig supervisory board chairman Oliver Mintzlaff has expressed shock after the club’s 6-0 thrashing by Bayern Munich on the Bundesliga’s opening day.

The 50-year-old described the performance under new coach Ole Werner as “disastrous.”

“Marcel Schäfer (RB Leipzig’s sporting managing director) has significantly improved the squad. With young, highly talented players, we’ve returned somewhat to our roots,” Mintzlaff told Sport1.

“But to deliver such a dispirited, disastrous performance was shocking for all of us.

“Of course, this needs to be addressed. It was the first matchday, not the last, but there is a lot to talk about.”

The pressure will be on Werner to get a result when RB Leipzig take on Heidenheim on Saturday.
