RB Leipzg have turned down a £69.8 million offer from Newcastle United for Benjamin Sesko, who is also on the radar of Manchester United.
The Slovenia international is poised to leave the Bundesliga outfit during the ongoing transfer window, but Leipzig are unlikely to sell him on the cheap.
The Magpies recently made an opening bid for the striker, but Leipzig have deemed it insufficient. They are eyeing a higher package for the marksman.
On top of this, Leipzig are also looking for a sell-on clause.
The Red Devils are also in the mix to land the 22-year-old ace, but they have yet to make a formal proposal for the highly-rated striker.
United have identified Sesko as one of their prime targets and it has been claimed that they have opened talks with his representatives.
However, a formal move could depend on player sales. Hence, the Magpies have an upper hand over the Red Devils in the transfer pursuit.
