Jude Bellingham gave a speech to his Real Madrid team-mates after they were humbled 3-0 by Arsenal in their Champions League round of 16 first leg on Tuesday night
Jude Bellingham received a round of applause from his Real Madrid team-mates for a rousing speech after the reigning Champions League title holders were destroyed 3-0 by Arsenal on Tuesday night.
The England midfielder was among a couple of Real stars who attempted to pick the deflated squad back up from their heavy loss at the hands of Declan Rice’s sensational free kick double.
And while the 15-times European champions have never overcome a three-goal first leg deficit, TV programme El Chiringuito de Jugones said Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Fede Valverde took turns in attempting to motivate Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
El Chiringito said Valverde’s rallying call centred on the pride of playing and fighting for a club with such rich history. The Uruguayan midfielder allegedly said: “What happened to us? This can’t happen. We have 90 minutes more and we have to show that we are Real Madrid.

“We have 15 Champions Leagues. We need to score in the first 15 minutes. If we score in the first 15 minutes we will win.” He finished the speech by claiming: “We will come back!”
Arsenal star William Saliba said a trip to the Santiago Bernabeu for next week’s second leg will not be something for Mikel Arteta’s team to fear.
And the French centre-back, who kept Real’s vaunted front three of Mbappe, Rodrgyo and Vinicius Jr silent at the Emirates, has vowed to go out and attack against the La Liga giants.
He said: “We are not scared. We want to go there and win the game. “We cannot defend the whole game. We won 3-0 but we know it is not finished. There are a lot of things that can happen.
“It was incredible because to win in a quarter-final like this against Madrid, in front of our fans, is amazing. But now we have to do it again next week.”
Before the return meeting on Wednesday night, Arsenal host Brentford in the Premier League as they seek another three points to secure a second-place finish behind champions elect Liverpool. Real, who trail Barcelona by four points with eight games to play, face a trip to Alaves on Sunday afternoon.
