Carlo Ancelotti’s side failed to reach an agreement to sign Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies on a Bosman deal this year and they have now turned their attention to finalising a move for Nuno Mendes.

That is according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, who state that Real Madrid are willing to submit a €70 million offer in order to land the Portugal international this summer.

Mendes has enjoyed a fantastic campaign under Luis Enrique at the Parc des Princes and his form has prompted Los Blancos to rekindle their interest in him ahead of the 2025 summer transfer window.

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is reportedly “personally leading” the club’s pursuit of Mendes as he is convinced the 22-year-old is the ideal player to improve Los Blancos’ backline this summer.

Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to arrive on a free transfer to provide competition for club legend Dani Carvajal at right-back, and Real Madrid have sounded out Mendes as the perfect candidate to perform a similar role on the opposite flank.

However, the Portugal star signed a new four-year contract at PSG in February and the Parisians are therefore unlikely to sanction an exit unless Real Madrid submit an offer that far exceeds his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €60m.

Nuno Mendes to follow Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid?

If Real Madrid are able to finalise an agreement to sign Mendes this year, he would become the second PSG player to move to the Santiago Bernabeu in the last two summer windows – following Kylian Mbappe’s switch in 2024.

The France international finally completed a much-awaited move to Los Blancos last summer and he has scored 33 goals in 49 appearances since his arrival in the Spanish capital in July.
