According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid want to extend Carlo Ancelotti’s contract for another two years, despite the fact Brazil are lining the Italian up to be their new coach.
The former Milan, Juventus and Parma boss is in his second different career stint with the Merengues after 2013-15, returning in 2021 and winning the Champions League again.
So far this season, Real Madrid have picked up 14 wins, two draws and only one defeat.
His contract runs to June 2024 and Relevo suggest that not only do Real Madrid want to discuss an extension, they also want it to be a two-year deal.
This would block off the dream of the Brazil Football Federation to hire Ancelotti as their manager going into the 2026 World Cup.
Not all the fans are on board with the idea of continuing with Ancelotti either, which again is making the idea of becoming the first Italian coach to lead the Seleçao a truly intriguing one.
Ancelotti is the only manager ever to have won all five major European league titles and has more Champions League trophies than any other coach.
