Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid: How and Where to Buy Tickets

There cannot be too many better seasons in which to secure a ticket to the Madrid derby. A rare beast is the three-horse title race, and still more so in La Liga, but with just four point separating the two sides at the time of writing, a normally tasty clash is set up to be mouth-watering.

A few weeks ago Los Colchoneros would have been ahead of their city rivals, but with Real Madrid pulling ahead in double-quick time, it means Atletico are far less likely to park the bus at the Santiago Bernabeu. The onus will be on Diego Simeone to at the very least get a draw, if not a win, in order to fuel their title charge, against a now in-form Kylian Mbappe.

The Frenchman missed the first tie between the two through injury, as Angel Correa pulled out a stoppage-time equaliser to make it 1-1 in September. Los Rojiblancos will not be cowed by the European champions though. Having gone to Montjuic and beaten Barcelona in December, Simeone’s side have a renewed spirit about them, and have recently authored another comeback against Bayer Leverkusen.

Real Madrid are finally finding some form, spurred on by Jude Bellingham and Mbappe, but if there is one thing they have struggled with this season, it is facing off against other big sides. Athletic Club, Barcelona twice, AC Milan and Liverpool have put Carlo Ancelotti’s side to the sword this season.

The hottest ticket in town, if not Europe, that weekend, securing your seat at the Santiago Bernabeu is unlikely to be cheap nor easy. However here we give you a rundown of all the best and easiest options available, starting with the club websites. Atletico Madrid require members to request away tickets from their online account, so unless you do have that privilege, a place in the 500 away seats likely to be given to Los Rojiblancos is not an option.
Beyond the club websites, the best options are to go through third-party operators. The online resale business can be tricky, so it is best to go with a trusted website that has been vouched for. Big names like Viagogo and FootballTicketNet have prices starting at €274 and €374 respectively, while LiveFootballTickets.Net begin their offering at €350. The advantage of the latter is that they do come with a 4.8 out of 5 rating on Trustpilot after over 11,000 reviews. Given the amounts of money involved, their 150% moneyback guarantee is worth taking note of too.

A final note worth bearing in mind – the tickets on sale currently are likely only the VIP offerings. Once the sale of the rest of the seats begins, the prices are likely to come down and more tickets will become available. So if you can afford to do so, wait until the turn of the month to look for your seats.
